Industrialist Dov Lautman, CEO of 'Delta Industries', was awarded the Israel Prize for Life Achievement at a ceremony on Israel's Independence Day. Lautman contributed greatly to the advancement of Israeli industry. In addition he is a past President of the Industrialist's Association and Chairman of the Coordinating Office of Economic Organizations.
Dov Lautman has worked constantly towards strengthening Israeli society. He is an active partner in the advancement of relations between Jews and Arabs, and in community activities. He is a member of the Board of Governors of Shenkar College and regards this as part of his contribution to the development of higher education in Israel.
Dov Lautman established Delta Industries 31 years ago and turned it into an international brand for the design, development and production of underwear for all the family. Delta is engaged in the area of 'own labeling' around the world and amongst its clients are Walmart, Marks & Spencer and other leading chains.
The Israel Prize Judges' Committee said that "Dov Lautman is the role model of an Israeli who worked his way to the top of Israeli industry, and who, for the past 40 years, has worked with determination to strengthen the Israeli economy".
Lautman regards the award as a landmark in his career at 'Delta' and 'Gibor Sabrina' – "we have proved that Israeli textile companies that manufacture socks and underwear can develop and employ hundreds of workers in Israel and abroad and achieve a turnover of $700 million per annum."
